https://www.seca.com/The German company Seca is a global leader in the production of medical scales, stadiometers, and other measuring devices. The company's products are exported to over 110 countries worldwide. Its headquarters are located in Hamburg, with subsidiaries in Austria, France, England, Switzerland, Japan, China, Mexico, Colombia, Finland, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, and the USA.
Seca's history began in 1840 when blacksmith A.C.C. Joachim founded his company in Hamburg and began manufacturing scales. He acquired new technology from the Strasbourg mechanic and monk Quinten, who invented the decimal scale in 1821. Over the next thirty years, the blacksmith workshop grew into a small factory. In 1888, businessman Frederick Vogel purchased the company. He expanded the product range and introduced the Seca brand, which he registered in 1897. Since then, the company has remained a family-owned business. Since 1970, the company has adopted a new corporate concept, focusing on medical measurements and weighing products necessary for diagnostics and therapy in medicine to determine a patient's precise weight.
Today, the company continues to expand its range and offers innovative weight and height measurement systems adapted to the needs and characteristics of patients. The defining feature of all Seca products is the harmony between medicine, technical level, and design, as these qualities allow the company to focus on what matters most when measuring weight and height: the person.
